This course will make Art History come to life! Learn about great artists of the past while creating artwork inspired by the techniques and exploration of historical masterpieces. Gain greater insight and understanding into the genius of artists such as Leonardo di Vinci, Rembrandt van Rijn, Claude Monet, Vincent Van Gogh, Pablo Picasso, Georgia O’Keefe, Albrecht Durer, Johannes Vermeer, Edgar Degas and Mary Cassatt among others. Practice drawing and painting techniques with a wide variety of artistic media including charcoal, oil pastels, watercolor, and acrylic paints. Dress for mess! (Fall semester ONLY.)

Instructor Bio: Jessica Peery is an art teacher at the Community School of Music and Art in Ithaca, and homeschool mom of five amazing kids! Her passion is to bring out the creative spirit in her students, while encouraging introspection and personal growth through artistic exploration.
