Economics (Dual Enrollment)

This course is an introduction to macro- and micro-economic theory emphasizing economic concepts and principles as tools in clarifying some of the major issues facing contemporary society. This course will rely heavily on Google Classroom (an online educational tool) for both reading and homework assignments, so participants should have reliable access to the internet. All reading materials, including the book, will be available online. To be successful in this course, participants should be comfortable reading graphs.

**NOTE: This class has the option for dual enrollment. When enrolling, participants will be asked to select whether or not they would like to take this course for college credit. If taking the course for credit, a fee will be charged to offset the costs associated with accreditation. Additional assignments may be required of those opting to take it for college credit and traditional numeric grades will be given. College credit will be through Tompkins Cortland Community College. ECON 101 fulfills the SUNY General Education Social Sciences Knowledge and Skills Area. In the spirit of transparency, it should be said that some universities require Microeconomics and/or Macroeconomics be taken separately, especially for Economics majors, so these credits may not replace the need for additional Economics courses in college.**
